How the delivery muhurat is chosen
When a delivery is planned, the birth time can be chosen within the dates and hours the doctor allows. Jyotish then looks for a moment with a strong rising sign (lagna) and lagna lord, benefic planets in the angles and trines, and a well-placed Moon.
Slots in Rahu kaal or Yamaganda, on Amavasya or Rikta tithis, with the Moon in a Gandmool nakshatra or at a gandanta junction, or with Kaal Sarp yoga, score lower. The first dasha of life also counts.
